Enroute:
After an effortless flight into Buenos Aires, we made our way to the Anselmo. I’ve never taken a long-haul flight that didn’t cross multiple time zones, so I was delighted to find myself fully energized when getting off a 10-hour flight.
Check-in:
Since we landed in the morning, our room wasn’t quite ready. That was no problem - we just dropped off our luggage and started exploring the city, thanks to the lack of jetlag. The hotel had a contemporary design, albeit it’s located in the old part of town.
Shortly past noon our room was ready.
Check-in was friendly and efficient, and we were on our way to our room.
Unpack:
We booked the corner one queen room, which I believe was what we received. The room was of decent size, although the layout was a bit odd. First thing you’d notice upon entry was the exposed sink.
A closet was right next to the entry door.
The rest of the bathroom went on, with a toilet and shower.
In the middle of the room was a desk, along with a fridge and coffee maker. Interestingly, the coffee pods were chargeable, which I presume is an Argentine thing.
Weirdly enough there was a rollaway bed already set up in the room. I didn’t request this by the way.
There’s another chair and a small side table by the window. I think all rooms at this hotel faced the courtyard.
Overall I thought the room was sufficient. We didn’t end up spending much time in the room, so it worked out for us just fine. I’ll probably stay somewhere a bit higher end next time, though.
Refuel:
On account of my Hilton Diamond status we were offered free breakfast every morning. The spread was pretty basic, so on subsequent morning we just went to a local coffee shop instead.
Depart:
The Anselmo served our purpose for a quick two-night stay. It’s a completely fine hotel. Buenos Aires is a beautiful city, and I can’t wait to return.
