Check-in:

I’m sure I’ve mentioned this in previous posts, but aviation is incredibly competitive in South East Asia. So when I was looking at flight options to get to Jakarta from Bali, I was presented with all these airlines I had never heard of - Citilink, Pelita Air, just to name a couple…

I figured it’d be more fun to try something that’ll probably go out of business in a few years 😜, so I eventually settled on TransNusa, an airline I knew nothing about but worked for our schedule.

The short hop between Bali and Indonesia’s capital normally takes an hour, so it really doesn’t matter much with whom you fly.

Check-in was pretty easy, as the small airline only had a couple counters and not many passengers.

Lounge:

The airport did have a PriorityPass lounge - the Concordia Lounge. It was completely overrun and disgustingly filthy, so we immediately turned around and left. We just walked around the terminal and watched some planes. Fortunately we didn’t have to wait long before our boarding time.

It was pretty cool to see the Emirates A380 touch down in the distance.

And this funny chart in the bathroom below.

Boarding:

Shortly it was time to board. I liked the big windows at DPS, which made for great views of the apron. Our bird today was a mid-life A320 that used to fly for Chengdu Airlines.

For a low cost carrier, I think the interior was about what can be expected.

The check-in agent kindly assigned us the exit row seats, which would’ve cost extra. Our flight wasn’t completely full, and all the other exit row seats remained unoccupied.

We pushed back on-time and passed so much interesting traffic on our way to the runway.

Inflight:

There was no cabin service on this short flight. I don’t even think there was any buy-onboard offerings.

On-Arrival:

We touched down at Soekarno and were pulled into a remote stand. I snapped another picture upon disembarkation.

Annoyingly the checked bags took quite some time to be delivered. At least they were sanitized, though!

We had an uneventful flight with a random Indonesian airline. There’s not much to say about such a short flight. I have no reason to avoid this airline.
