Review - MackAir Beechcraft 200 King Air Private Airstrip to Harare

August 3rd, 2024

Check-in:

At the end of our safari trip, we used the same charter company that we flew in with. Our bird into the camp was a Cessna, which you can check out here. On our return, we were traveling with our friends, so we got a Beechcraft 200 King Air. As you’d expect, there was no formal check-in. We just drove onto the airfield at a neighboring property.

Boarding:

The interior on this King Air was much nicer than I imagined. I’ve only been on one Beechcraft before, which I took flying from Toronto to Ithaca on Air Canada Express. However, the interior here was more akin to what you’d find on a Learjet or a G1.

Inflight:

We took off almost immediately after everyone was onboard, and I caught my last glance of the Savé Valley.

On Arrival:

Roughly an hour later, we safely touched down in Harare.

From here, we headed to the MackAir Lounge before the Qatar Airways check-in desks opened. MackAir ran a smooth operation, and we were happy with both of our flights. While I don’t have other charter experience in Africa to compare to, I thought MackAir was an excellent choice.
